In modern concrete floor construction, laser screed machines have become core equipment for improving surface flatness (FF/FL index). However, many construction problems are not caused by insufficient equipment performance, but rather by the accumulation of errors due to improper debugging.
Taking the HA100-2 laser screed machine as an example, pre-construction system debugging typically includes four key steps: tripod leveling, transmitter installation, receiver system alignment, and automatic leveling verification.

The first step in a laser screed system is to ensure the transmitter's reference is stable.
If the tripod is not perfectly level, even an error of only a few millimeters will be amplified during large-area construction, ultimately leading to:
✅️Overall ground tilt
✅️Excessive local height differences
✅️Increased rework costs later
Therefore, the industry standard practice is to observe the level bubble to ensure the tripod is centered within the "black circle" area and adjust its height to be above the human operating range (approximately 1.8–2 meters) to ensure unobstructed laser emission
The emitter must be securely locked to the top of the tripod; it is the "signal source" of the entire leveling system.
In engineering practice, a loose or improperly locked emitter can lead to:
✅️Laser reference drift
✅️Receiver misjudgment of height
✅️Frequent automatic leveling corrections
Therefore, the industry emphasizes "automatic leveling after locking" to ensure the system enters a stable working state.
The receiver's function is to convert the laser signal into height data.
Before construction, "elevation zeroing" needs to be performed using a handheld pole. This is a common reference unification step in the industry to ensure:
✅️All construction references are consistent
✅️Machine and site elevation are synchronized
✅️Avoiding the accumulation of local errors
If the zero point is inaccurate, the subsequent automatic leveling function cannot correct systematic deviations.
Automatic Leveling Systems Are Not "Fully Automatic and Universal"; Manual Calibration is Still Required
Although the HA100-2 has an automatic leveling function, industry experience shows that:
The automatic system is responsible for "correction," while manual calibration is responsible for "setting the reference."
In actual construction, the scraper system needs to be adjusted to a horizontal state by using the automatic key and panel, so as to ensure that the left and right errors are controlled within the allowable range (usually within ±2mm).
